Everyone of us have heard the popular phrase “ Double
standards”. We have used it too, for atleast one person in our life.
No doubt, it’s truly so annoying to have friends or rather,
say frenemies who have two faces.
Let's just think about it, today.
My belief may sound a little weird but, every person in this world has two faces. Yes, each one! Let’s say, a few people
are really straightforward that we cannot count them on this list. But, I
suppose, that’s not even a 0.1% of the world’s population. (No exclamatory
mark, because you already knew it. This fact isn’t new.)
Not here, to hurt anybody’s sentiments but let’s talk
about ourselves for now.
Think of instances where you HAD to be a two-faced jackass/bitch?
Life is a weird party where you meet people, talk to some,
make a few friends, talk to a few and forget, carry a few forever and what not.
It’s just not easy to be straightforward in this extraordinary world. It takes
guts, takes away everything from you starting from your character. Join a group
and you will have to behave according to their standards.
Going to a five star
hotel is not equal to going in a normal restaurant. Though the only thing you
do there is eat. Of course, it’s necessary to dress a bit differently, behave
differently and maybe, show what you are actually not. And, hence, it’s the
same with people.
That’s the same with some incidents in our lives. You meet a
friend of yours whom you had never liked. But, still it is considered courteous to look at them and smile. What if you don’t smile? (That is, you don’t be
two-faced. I mean, what if your attitude goes like “I don’t like you and I am
not gonna smile at you even if you look at me and smile”?) You are now a RUDE
person, that’s it.
The corporate world could explain you this thing in a better way, probably. The
clients to which the employees speak with, are annoying at times, but the employee
has to be sweet as sugar to his/her client every time they speak. After all,
they are their source of income.
Maybe, getting work done by your colleague can
be another instance. And right now, the best instance I can think of now is
the Boss-Slave stuff. No offence, not every boss is the same but going with the
stereotype of Bosses’ stories, the origin of insincere lavish praise is in
itself a story explaining the concept of Double Faces.
What I mean is that, it’s not ‘Not Okay’ to have double
faces. It just happens due to the situations. You would have heard the phrase "Laugh with all, but trust none." Relatable!
And talking about the ones who
have this rightful nature of being two-faced, forget it. Stop wasting time on
such people and move on with the better ones in your life!
